Principal Theatre and Lyceum Casino

1 review of Principal Theatre and Lyceum Casino

Rich and Varied Culture

The Teatro Principal de Pontevedra dates from 1878, rebuilt in 1980 after a serious fire that left it almost unrecognisable. It was built on the site of the Romanesque church of San Bartolomé which was demolished in 1842, and nowadays is home to the Biennale of Modern Art. Beside it, there are some interesting buildings like Casa das Campás which da from the late 15th century, and which still retains its main façade. The main theatre has rich and varied cultural events throughout the year, which is mainly composed of plays and concerts.
