Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park

2 reviews of Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park

Historical park

This is a small park where they have recreated an ancient Hawaiian settlement, building some typical Hawaiian cottages. It's on the Big Island's south west coast, and has beautiful beaches surrounded by palm trees, away from the rainy area of the island. They knew how to live then. Through a recording, they explain the history of the first settlements.

Beautiful place. Lots of energy flowing.

Excellent

Tiki’s are a must to photograph. Do the trail! It’s amazing. Just be careful with the goats!
