Very colonial

This city can be called very colonial, with its streets frozen in time. The structures are living history. There's a lot of life, tourists from around the world in one place, many blocks to go and unparalleled cold weather gives a European look. A visit of the Gothic church was my way to finish the tour, seen from any part of the city, it is impressive and breaks with the colonial historic center.

Do not miss this beautiful city, quito!

Arriving in Quito is a surprise. I thought I would find a small underdeveloped town, but I was wrong and it is in great shape. The city is well maintained, clean and it shows that it has developed in great shape. The cool climate is nice, it has many cultural sites, recreational parks, and places to exercise, walk and relax. The old town is stunning and you can also get different tours that take you around the city. Do not miss this beautiful city, Quito!

The capital of ecuador has retained i...

The capital of Ecuador has retained its Spanish colonial past, the central flower is legendary with all the presidential palace, from the hill where the virgen, you can enjoy the view of a city 20km from Étalle long. I came across an event still one more in Latin America and I meet someone telling me about the past of his city, he told me that Quito was a city of the Incas before the city of conquistadors, they fought a fight no thank you to the Spaniards and preferred shave their city instead of delivering it into the hands of the invaders.

The historic heart

This is certainly the place where you spend most of your time in Quito as there are good things here to visit. Between museums, churches, squares and bustling streets (where you have to pay attention to his business) you do not know where to turn and a week is not enough to see everything.

Quito colonial city

The capital of Quito is located at 2900 meters above sea level, so it's no surprise to find a very variable and rather cold weather. Daytime temperatures can reach a maximum of 23/25 º at night can drop to 10 degrees or less. In Quito abound frequently cloudy days and rain. Even more surprising are the volcanoes that surround it, the Avenue of the Volcanoes, no less than 14. Some of them are the highest in the world, the highest volcano Chimborazo world 6310 meters, with the ubiquitous Cotopaxi 4814 m near the city of Quito, active and frequent eruptions in 2003 covered the entire city of ashes . Icon Quito is the bagel, it is a hill named for its distinctive shape, is topped by the statue of the Virgin Alada, the patron saint of Quito. You can get to the top by means of a road and down some stairs, from the top you can see the panorama of the entire city. In Quito there are two cities, historic city, very interesting to be full of monuments, churches, monasteries, colonial buildings and modern Quito, with large office buildings, tall, modern buildings, the presence of foreign companies. Without any interest to this part of town Quito call "Gringolandia". The heart of the historic city is the Plaza de la Independencia sonde the Government Palace is located. In this space every Monday takes place a large military parade, the President acts as host to a foreign leader who is visiting the Republic, also the president offers a parade or parade that social, cultural or sports entity that has contracted for that distinction merits. The military parade is very colorful as in it the old-fashioned dresses soldiers, grenadiers on foot and horseback to martial marches are making the change of guard at the president involved. On one side of this square is the Cathedral which houses the tomb of Mariscal Sucre., Treasure Room and a large collection of ornaments and jewelry. Next to the Cathedral is the Church of the Society of Jesus, rather ostentatious, with golden domes and baroque altarpieces, covered in gold leaf doors. It is the most ornate church Ecuador. The Palace of the government is white, austere colonial line. In the center of the square stands the monument to Independence .. Other notable places, Metropolitan Centre, La Merced with its monumental tower, Plaza and Monastery of San Francisco, which is accessed through narrow streets to reach the large paved square and a large monastery, also colonial court, the colonial building more largest of Quito. Also notable is the Archbishop's Palace in whose courtyard the best restaurants in the city is located. The remodeling of the Opera Theatre, Teatro Sucre, restored with exquisite taste.'' .

Quito, ciudad colonial
