Rashad

Rashad is a Nuba village located close to the Nuba mountains. It is not a large village but is located in an idyllic spot. A lot of the houses have been built using tree branches. They are quite small but allow shelter from the rain and cold. There are also some houses around here that are made of stone. We stayed in one of them. Next to the houses there is usually a small garden to grow staple vegetables. There are no paved roads, so it can be easy to get lost. As you can imagine, there are not a lot of facilities or services in this area - the doctor is kind of Shaman who is responsible for healing people with traditional herbal remedies and "spells".
