Regional Dances in Ponferrada

One of the most traditional and popular acts during the festivities of Encina are performances of regional dances. In the Plaza del Ayuntamiento is a small stage where different folk groups, dressed in their costumes and people from the Bierzo region, performing their dances and traditional music. Against the backdrop is a tent under which there are numerous wooden foldaway chairs to sit and watch for free. Performances take place in the evening, at 7pm. The stage is also used later for the orchestras of the festivals.
