Rio Safari Zoo

Last summer, we stayed at the Rio Safari park in Elche, located in a palm grove between Santa Pola and Elche.

Rio Safari specializes in the breeding and care of exotic animals like sea lions, antelopes, ostriches, bison, snakes, zebras, chameleons, cockatoos, chimpanzees, llamas, jaguars, camels, hippos, and giraffes.

We did the tour by train, which takes you through the park's interior and lets you see all the animals up close. Then, we did the walking route which brought us even closer!

Rio Safari is great because you can bring your own food and drinks for a picnic without any problems, a huge advantage if you have children like I do. We finished the day watching the macaw, elephant, and sea lion shows.
