The SUNKEN or LOWER PLAZA, which is reached via the Promenade, is the corazaón of enormous architectural complex called ROCKEFELLER CENTER. Here one can sit under umbrellas Spring or Summer and winter can be admired from this place to the skaters that evolve in the magnificent ice rink. The entrance is flanked by PROMENADE business everything from clothing-known brands, renowned stationery, perfume, tobacco, aerial corporate offices, etc.. In the middle of the PROMENADE is the RINK BAR, where you also you can stop to take a drink or a coffee in comfortable umbrellas and surrounded by beautiful and colorful flowers. Among the tables and umbrellas are small ponds, adorned by statues. Altogether a very harmonious. In the background waving rainbow flags in front of a large waterfall and above it there is the Prometheus DORADO, suspended in the air, that we have seen in so many movies. The Prometheus is a sculpture made by Paul Manship, and although it is best known, is not the only artwork that adorns the ROCKEFELLER CENTER. 30 known artists created more than 100 paintings and sculptures. At the entrance to the Fifth Avenue can see the ATLAS Lee Lawrie and this same artist is the figure of Wisdom is at the entrance of the General Electric Building (formerly the RCA. Next to the Skating Rink, an indoor sporting arena and there is a great BAR, where you can have lunch with a set menu of two categories, depending on the amount of dishes, to the tune quite accessible. This place is great, but only for winter, because from its huge windows You can watch the skaters.'s giant columns that hold this vast bar-restaurant are covered with plastic, simulating marble, and the truth is that only an expert can realize this. We look as we had been told and not could believe.

If you want to see new york and its s...

If you want to see New York and its surroundings den above, I suggest you buy a ticket to Top of the Rock. You can dambuler on the panoramic terrace on 3 levels located at the top of Rockefeller Center. While New York and New Jersey staleront of sight under your eyes bahis. One can even see the Statue of Liberty! At this altitude, you really realize the height of these buildings and oddly i thought Gainsbourg: I've seen New York YorkNew USAJai seen anything dauJai seen anything daussi hautOh! This is high, this is New York above Personally i prfr Rockefeller Center Empire State Building because it is a little higher and you can admire it leisure! The legendary Rockefeller Center! The place may seem loaded with clichés. Especially with the Rockefeller Plaza o stands specious Christmas tree overlooking the rink installs occasion of festivals dannes end, but it's a mythical place, but worth the detour, if only for the golden statue representing Promthe drobant fire to gods to transmit it to men and luxurious interiors of the skyscraper reminding specious Rockefeller family fortune.

The whim of prometheus

The Rockefeller Center was once the first integrated complex of apartments, offices, shops, and even a theater (Radio City) rising in a big city. But it also symbolized and does even today the courage and strength of those great entrepreneurs and self-made tycoons. The really funny thing is that your builder potentate, the king of oil at that time JD Rockefeller, was to build the Metropolitan Opera, but gave up quickly by the crisis in the stock market, but soon gathered a group of architects, artists and 30 225,000 workers and put them to work overtime to lift the assembly of 14 multi-purpose buildings that we now enjoy. The star of the set is General Electric building and its beautiful mural art deco "Wisdom and Knowledge". The elegant tower rises up to 259 meters high and his feet find several symbols that have been adding to the whole, as the delicate, golden statue of Prometheus by Paul Manship, who chairs the famous Sunken Garden where he skated across New York, or the Channel Gardens between the British Empire Building and La Maison Française, to rest from the hustle while opening our eyes to the beautiful frieze of Hermes. Do not forget that between Prometheus and the building of the General Electric placed the giant Christmas tree is so cinematic and we've seen in dozens of American movies. Close, Atlas, with about 1,800 kg bronze behind, stands at the entrance of the International Building, and although it is best known, there are 12 other sculptures of its creator, Lawrie, within the complex including the reliefs is I mentioned of Hermes and the mural "Wisdom". Currently the group is considered a national monument and is frequented by some 250,000 people daily, either on the surface or through the veins of the complex are several underground walkways connecting the buildings of the complex that is now the center of Midtown, radiant light and activity at any time. Curiosity has many, like the bust of Lenin created by Diego Ribera and replaced by Abraham Lincoln that was less communist, or dancing call Spruce held every year the week after Thanksgiving, when the giant Christmas tree is solemnly planted in the heart of Rockefeller Center. Definitely one of the most elegant places in New York.

Ideally located in one of the fourteen buildings imposing Rockefeller Center, wanted and created by Rockefeller in the early twentieth century, top of the Rocks is an observation point on the big apple, the same style as that of the Empire State Building. Through twenty Euros, you can climb a few seconds supersonic elevator on the 70th floor of the tower from which you have a breathtaking view of the city. The huge advantage is that the place is well known as the Empire State and you can also see Central Park in all its glory. Thrills guaranteed!

Sensations garanties !

The magnificence of the past

The Rockefeller Center embodies the whole spirit of the years when I was built (thirties). An era of oil tycoons, exclusive events, of commercial empires, luxury and pomp. The center, so named because it includes more than 19 buildings, gives the idea of magnificence. The two main buildings are [then = 2787] Radio City Music Hall [/ then] and the GE Building, which is the skyscraper. It's right on top of that is the [then = 354] Top of The Rock [/ then], one of the most scenic observers of New York. Another important point is surely the sunken plaza that contains the rink [then = 2085] Ice Rink [/ then].

The elegance of a myth

The elegant statue of Prometheus in the middle of the square there can be deceiving. We at Rockefeller Center, Manhattan, at the edge of the fantastic 5th Avanue. Climb onto the roof of the skyscraper, the 70th floor, thanks to the fantastic psychedelic elevator, you will enjoy a stunning panoramic view of Central Park, Empire State Building, Manhattan and all that embodies. Rockefeller Center is not only this, however, is indeed one of the most important centers of finance in New York, owned by the Rockefeller family, and the home of the NBC Radio City Music Hall for example. The big Christmas tree and skating rink in the Christmas season, I am convinced they can open the heart of anyone.

Plus it is less the amount of people, from the Rockefeller Center is best appreciated Central Park and has the added benefit of being able to see the Empire State. That if the Chrysler building is somewhat masked by the MetLife. The best time to consider it up in the evening and stay until dark, thereby having the viewing day and night, plus the addition of view as little they are turning on all the lights of the city, even reaches see something of Times Square and the Paramount Building.
