The best sunset in madrid

It has always been said that one of the most amazing places to enjoy dusk in Madrid is the Círculo de Bellas Artes. I had never been up there, and to be honest I wish I had gone before. Yes it is amazing.

Going up there right at the time when the sun turns orange and goes down progressively until it disappears, giving way to what in photography is called "the magical hour", is a feeling all photography fans know you cannot put into words.

It is a huge terrace roof where, even if there are many people, there is always a good spot to admire the horizon or take some unforgettable pictures. You shouldn't miss out on visiting it.

One of madrid's top stops

One of the best places to get a literal overview of Madrid if the roof terrace of the Círculo de Bellas Artes. It's especially wonderful if you go in the morning for breakfast when it's still cool and, if you brave the crowds, at sunset. It costs 3 euros to access the terrace and there are tables and lounge chairs as well as two bars serving breakfasts, lunches, drinks, and cocktails.

Personally, I don't enjoy the evenings when they try to make it something of a Euro-trash hang out but I will admit that the atmosphere is nice at night during weekdays and in August when there aren't many people. Just don't go on a Friday night ;). The rest of the time, it's spectacular. You can see literally everything in Madrid excepts the Royal Palace: Gran Via, Cibeles, Atocha, the Four Towers, the scenic church steeples of Huertas and the Barrio Salamanca, the Paseo de la Castellana, the Prado Museum...everything!

Anyways...if you're visiting Madrid for the first-time, this should definitely be on your list. It's a wonderful place that's popular among locals and not in a lot of the more traditional museum-and-monument guidebooks. I'd suggest heading there at 10am for breakfast. You won't regret it!

Views and exhibits

The terrace at the Círculo de Bellas Artes has been open for a while now and is where, for a 2€ entry fee (which gives access to all exhibits), we can enjoy one of the best views of Madrid, the Metrópolis Building, and the grandiose statue of Minerva that crowns the Círculo de Bellas Artes.
Since there is not an inch of shade of the roof-deck, it quickly gets too hot during summer days. It’s best to visit during the evening when things cool down a bit.
They also hold temporary exhibitions, such as that of the EFTI Photography School, that remain open throughout the summer.

Madrid from the sky

For those who are looking for a different perspective of Madrid, the Círculo de Bellas Arts (Fine Arts Association) has been offering its visitors an excellent alternative to admire the capital city: a bird eye's view.

The 780 square meters terrace has incredible views from where you can appreciate the whole metropolis: Gran Vía, Recoletos, Puerta del Sol, Castellana, etc. One of the most impressive elements is the Metrópolis building.

Even though anytime is good for the visit, one can say the last hour of light is ideal, especially if you want to take pictures since the sky takes spectacular colors.

You can go up any day of the week, as long as there is no event. The opening hours are usually between 11 am and 2 pm and from 4.30 pm to 7 pm, but during this summer it opened until 9 pm.

The entrance fee is 2€, with a 50% discount for students. The members of the Association do not have to pay.

One of the most beautiful terrace roofs

Probably one of the most beautiful terrace roofs in Madrid. Since recently it was a place restricted to the members of the Association (a club somewhat antiquated and manly where they would play pool and they had access to workshop rooms on the terrace roof, which are always empty).

What happened? The people of the Association realized this restricted access was an elitist measure that would not allow the people of the city to know this spot. Now it is possible to visit the terrace roof sometimes paying 2€ or even for free on special occasion like the day of the Lectura del Quijote.

I am lucky enough to have a less limited access thanks to my job and I can assure you this place is one of the spots in Madrid you cannot miss out on. Apart from this free access they organize parties and events (some of them are open to the public), when the terrace roof becomes an improvised runway, a crazy costume party or a romantic space for a poetry recital.

But if you want to know when these events are organized you have to be very attentive to the Association's web page or take the booklet they give out every month in the main cultural places in Madrid.

A place that is finally open to everyone and that we have the right to enjoy!

Above the rooftops of madrid

This roof has earned his own right as one of the favorite spots to see the rooftops of Madrid. Its location is excellent, right at the entrance to the Gran Vía and the Huertas area and Cybele. Great to place to view the city almost bird. It is easy to recognize main avenues as Recoletos / Paseo del Prado is just becoming the Castellana and the Kio Towers with the 4 towers in the background, while the foreground are the roofs of Chueca, Calle Alcala also, and even retirement. To take pictures is a delight, because there are many places to look. The sunset is often also memorable, standing on the roofs of most traditional Madrid. Indispensable classic.

I usually bring friends here on a vis...

I usually bring friends here on a visit, to give an idea of what Madrid from above. There are plenty of terraces in Madrid, often turned into bars or restaurants that allow overviews truly impressive. In this case it is the terrace of the Circulo, which I recommend you to visit: There are often interesting exhibits at the ridiculous price of 1 euro. Those who do not have the time or arrive late, you may go directly to paying an entrance terrace of 2 euro and taking the elevator to the top floor. Here you can also happen to come across an exhibition. It is not trivial to add that the best time to visit this area, very pleasant in the summer when there is organized a few concerts, is the sunset or at night when they light the buildings of the always amazing [then = 67871] Gran Via [/ then] .

The best views of madrid

In Alcala Street, between Seville and Cibeles, the building of the Circle of Fine Art, where exhibitions of art and photography are made and where you can enjoy one of the best views of Madrid from above, views are covering almost 360 ° from its roof. This place is a must be in Madrid or come out, whether it is summer or winter, day or night. Enjoy the sunset and nightfall from this vantage point is always worthwhile. This place also worth it if you love photography and are looking for an interesting place to practice with your camera. The entrance to climb are only 3 €, 2 € if you Carnet Joven, no time limit, and if you still have not taken advantage of to go I would recommend you do as soon as possible, since it seems that they will close the visits to the public sometime this year.

A very unusual point of view of madri...

A very unusual point of view of Madrid. The circle of Fine Arts opened to the public its wonderful terrace during this Christmas, discovering some views on the street really stunning Alcalá and Gran Va. The price to climb to the roof was 2 per person and success has been tremendous, as I have no doubt that volvern roof open to the public on a regular basis. If tennis opportunity not stop rising Podis see the Goddess Athena.

Watch the bustle of the capital since the peace.

From the most recommended by me to all those people who visit or live in Madrid and have not yet enjoyed this place, ideal to enjoy a sunset and see the lights of the buildings are lit as night falls and the Car lights paint the central streets of the capital of Spain, in the hectic final note that is raised in a big city from the tranquility of the roof of the Fine Arts. To access this site you have to pay an entrance fee of 3 €, 2 € if you present the university card. Location: Calle Alcalá No. 42

Madrid 360 degrees

Madrid visit frequently and although tena references about this place, had not had occasion to visit. Procur go antelacin enough to see sunset from the top of the building. There was no tail much as that in a 5 minute wait was already enjoying the views. The first thing that caught my attention was the visual contrast of the towers of Business Area protruding over the rooftops of old Madrid, after registr the classical view of the building metropolis and Great Va. Deserved worth paying 4 see Madrid from this vantage point.

Madrid a 360 grados
