Sain Jean Square

At the foot of the Fourvière hill, this beautiful pedestrian square is the square where you can find the Cathedral of Saint Jean. With a bronze fountain that once carried water for the whole neighborhood to its center, the Plaza has existed since medieval times, when this part, now called the Old Lyon, was the main city center. The source has a sculpture that represents the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist. If you raise your head, you will see the other cathedral of Fourvière, at the top of the hill overlooking the square. From the square you an use stairs to climb, but the best is to come up on a cable car.
