Built by Afonso IV

Directly in front of the Church of Our Lady of Oliveira in the Largo da Oliveira, is this memorial to the victory of the Battle of Salado in 1340, when Portuguese and Spanish troops fought benimerines from North Africa who tried to invade the Iberian Peninsula. It's a kind of Gothic temple with a cross inside and was built by Afonso IV in the fourteenth century.
