San Antonio of the Old Tower

San Antonio da Torre Velha is the result of the reform of the early 19th century of the old chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Hope and then to Our Lady of the Carmen when it was enlarged. This lovely church is situated just across the bridge through the river Lima, which is the name of the oldest city in Portugal. The church highlights the great height of the tower and part of the outside covered with mosaics and white, as is typical in Portuguese churches. A few meters away one can find a tiny chapel called the Guardian Angel, along the river Lima at the end of Roman Bridge and the Arnado Botanical
