1 review of San Francesco Church

highly revered on the island

Going via Satta, left at the town hall, and then taking it back to the left via Don Minzoni, you get to San Francesco church. It was built between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, though remodeled in the latter. Its gabled façade with arched cover is adorned with two simple columns and two small rosettes. Inside the capitals, corbels and domes have a very varied decoration, by shape and theme. The decoration of the capitals at the chancel entrance arch are very interesting, and depict various episodes from the life of San Francisco, who is highly revered on the island, remember the Capuchin convent of Cagliari.
