An interesting Cuban town

San Salvador de Bayamo is the second village ever founded in Cuba, on November 5, 1513 by Diego Velázquez. Due to the navigation conditions allowed by the Bayamo River, the town quickly flourished, along with Santiago de Cuba, which was, at the time, the capital of the colony.

The name 'Bayamo' has two possible origins: a trend suggests that took the name comes from a Cacique name qualifier who led in the area, but most fans have is that it's due to the existence of a local tree called Bayam, tree wisdom, leafy and good shade ...
