What can I say? It’s one of the most beautiful cities that I have ever seen. I’m in love with San Sebastián, with its people, pintxos, txacolí, beaches, mounts, txirimiri, and the color of its sunsets.
A must! So beautiful!
I was blown away with Donosti’s charms: la Concha, the magic that surrounds the city. It is really worth visiting, definitely one of my favorite corners.
I will go back there every chance I get!
One day of August 2007, we reached San Sebastián after a long train ride from Paris; it took us almost a day to get there. It was morning when we arrived, and our intention was to spend the afternoon in the city to later take a night train to A Coruña. Our lack of foresight made us stay all night, since the next train to A Coruña didn’t leave until the next morning. We were already somewhat worn out, after a month of travel. We stayed in a nice guest house in Ondarreta, some 5 minutes away from its beach, a lot calmer than La Concha.
That same afternoon, after eating something we went to the beach for our last swim of the trip…even though it was a bit windy it was nice.
This place was incredibly moving for me. The clouds, the tides, the smell of pintxos and the families just briskly walking about made it a very beautiful setting. People come to Europe to experience it all. Sometimes the best experiences though are the smaller surprises along the way that you don't expect to find captivating, like a fleeting sunset and a lazy day in San Sebastian.
