Santa Catarina Chapel

I found this chapel while looking for the tourist information office. It's on the street December 1st, which is just off the promenade in the old town. It was built in the seventeenth century in a mixture of Baroque and Mannerist styles, with a rectangular nave and granite facade, its highlight is the roof that's framed by pilasters and topped with a triangular pediment. Formerly, a pilgrim hostel was attached. Although I couldn't get inside the doors were open and I could see inside, the High Altar is made of gilded carving and contains the image of Santa Catarina, patron saint of the church.
