1 review of Santa Teresa

The accommodations are modest

The town of Santa Teresa was our second stop to sleep on our 4-day trek to Machu Picchu. It is about 20-30 km from Aguas Calientes town and the most famous thing about the place are its excellent natural hot springs. Thanks to these waters more and more tourists are dedicated to reaching Machu Picchu via treks like ours, so tourism has grown in Santa Teresa. However, it is still a small town that retains the customs and traditions of this area of Peru. The town has two main streets where you find accommodation and bars and restaurants. All the accommodations here are modest and have basic services, but usually they are all very clean and the people are very hospitable.
