Schwarzwälder Freilichtmuseum Vogtsbauernhof

Excellent

A walk through the history and culture of the Black Forest. The Open Air Museum in Gutach Vogtsbauernhof (Schwarzwaldbahn)provides an overview of the life led by the peasants who inhabited the area between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. The Vogtsbauernhof consists of more than a dozen houses, spread over the hillside which are life sized and made completely of wood. They also have tools that were used until recently and typical crops. Agriculture that has been practiced over the centuries has made the Black Forest it is now: a truly unmistakable landscape. Houses are typical of the region, with sloping roofs that almost touch the ground as if they were hoods are showcased in the museum.
