An architectural wonderland

There’s a train that has traveled to Soller for over a century, but we went by car. They say that the train ride is beautiful because of the amazing views, a true pleasure for those who like to enjoy nature. The town is filled with architectural gems up and down every street.

We walked through the streets until arrive at the plaza mayor. There, we sat down at a café to have a hot chocolate and an ensaimada (local pastry), enjoying the slow pace of the small town. Here, it seems like all the tourism hasn’t changed much. Kids are kicking the ball around in the streets and run around like in any other town. The good thing is that here there’s a pleasant breeze, which is perfect for a hot August afternoon.

We get up and continue on our tourist journey through the town. On the walk we all decided which house we’d like to buy one day, when we come to live in Soller. There are houses for all tastes and pockets. I have my mind made up, I’m going to live in a house looking over the sea.

This town is a true delight

Located a few kilometers from the Tramontana coast, Sóller has a distinct air about it that blows through its streets filled with flower pots. Going to Sóller is awesome. The streets in the center are almost all pedestrian and they’re shady and covered with banana trees. The plaza is full of life and trimmed with aromatic orange trees. All is guardd by the magnificent Saint Bartholemue church. The big houses desereve their own paragraph. From morning to night the patio doors are open for those who want to enjoy their furniture and plants. Sóller boasts tremendous beauty, from the church to the bakeries. There’s nothing like having a sampling of delicatessens and enjoying them in the plaza, under the orange trees.

Like other town in Mallorca located on in the inland, Sóller has its “port” a few kilometers away. Don’t get lost, it’s amazing!

Soller is 30 km from Palma, in a beautiful site in the Tramuntana mountains and dominated off by the Puig Major, the highest point of the island with 1455m. The surrounding countryside is planted with orange and lemon trees which can taste the juice squeezed in bars in the city. Soller was very isolated before the construction of the railway that now links to Palma. Arriving at the station, a small old tram links Port de Soller, 4 km away in 30 minutes. Plaza Constitucion is surrounded by trees and a fountain in the center; Sant Bartomeu the 13th century church.

Escape

If you go to Mallorca, playing one day escape Sóller. Theirs is to take the train from Palma. The journey takes an hour or less. Getting off the train station I recommend you go to the Plaza of the Constitution and assail something on a terrace, the recommended is a natural orange juice people, good, nice and cheap.

Escapada

Soller is a pretty village, and it's best to go from Palma to Soller and back in the old wooden train. On the way you pass through incredible landscapes as you almost get to the village, the views are wonderful! The tram from Soller not wasted!

Soller

Publecito charming. Between the mountains of the north wind. Its wooden train is very peculiar. Do not fail to walk around downtown and see the facade of the church of St. bertomeu. The port offers a beautiful view.

The wealth of its people and the quality of its oranges enriched this charming little city with some beautiful modernist houses as Can Prunera or former bank Soller. A staircase takes you to the convent of Sant Francesc, with baroque, and we recommend a walk through the streets: Rector, St. Bartholomew or Sa Lluna, where you can see beautiful houses with open doorways. Also worth a getaway S'Alquería neighborhood des Comte, where a beloved Baroque oratorio dedicated to Sant Felip Neri.

A very curious place we traveled by car around it. This in an area surrounded by a mountainous system with the coast, and the buildings are all separate and on different levels, as they are in small mountains. It's a very rough area, and you can take a ride for a light rail that takes you all over the place, I hope to make the way on the next trip. The photos were taken with the car in progress and so are a bit blurry.

Stunning scenery

Sller City is a very picturesque place, it is all a very tourist attraction which is not far from the city of Mallorca. The village offers throughout the year the vegetation and the famous orange groves. Across the top of the village you can admire the different and beautiful orange groves, and besides the own ravine Sller, and a part of highway road to the monastery of Lluc one of the most emblematic of the island of Mallorca rides , occupied by tourists in the summer.

Impresionante paisaje
