An architectural wonderland

There’s a train that has traveled to Soller for over a century, but we went by car. They say that the train ride is beautiful because of the amazing views, a true pleasure for those who like to enjoy nature. The town is filled with architectural gems up and down every street.

We walked through the streets until arrive at the plaza mayor. There, we sat down at a café to have a hot chocolate and an ensaimada (local pastry), enjoying the slow pace of the small town. Here, it seems like all the tourism hasn’t changed much. Kids are kicking the ball around in the streets and run around like in any other town. The good thing is that here there’s a pleasant breeze, which is perfect for a hot August afternoon.

This town is a true delight

Located a few kilometers from the Tramontana coast, Sóller has a distinct air about it that blows through its streets filled with flower pots. Going to Sóller is awesome. The streets in the center are almost all pedestrian and they’re shady and covered with banana trees. The plaza is full of life and trimmed with aromatic orange trees. All is guardd by the magnificent Saint Bartholemue church. The big houses desereve their own paragraph. From morning to night the patio doors are open for those who want to enjoy their furniture and plants. Sóller boasts tremendous beauty, from the church to the bakeries. There’s nothing like having a sampling of delicatessens and enjoying them in the plaza, under the orange trees.
