1 review of St. Columba's Bay

A wild part of the island

The small island of Iona, located in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Scotland, is famous for being the place where St. Columba landed, before going on to build Iona Abbey, which helped establish Christianity in Scotland. It is possible to go to St Columba's Bay with a short hike that takes you through the entire southern half of the island - that is the wildest part of the island, where nobody lives apart from the sheep!
