St. Helena Island

The small island of St. Helena is just an hour and a half by car or motorbike from West End to arrive in the port of Oak Ridge. There we where we hired a boat to the tiny and charming island. Santa Elena is located on the east side of Roatan, separated from the rest of the island by an artificial mangrove creek (which is why it is only accessible by boat). As in most crowded spots, this one doesn't receive too many tourists. If you like sightseeing differently, do not miss this great place when you go to Roatan. Local people will greet you in passing, and the people are peaceful and the majority make their earnings through fishing.
