Statue of Bertrand Duguesclin

1 review of Statue of Bertrand Duguesclin

Famous Knight

This is between the Plaza Duguesclin and the Plaza Clos du Champs. The plazas themselves are nothing special, and are mainly used as a parking lot, except on the Dinan market day (Thursdays starting at 6:00 am). But between the two places, there is a statue of Bertrand Duguesclin, the famous knight from the Hundred Years War. It reminds us where Bertrand Duguesclin fought Thomas Cantorbury. The sculptor, Emmanuel Frémiet (1824-1910), also sculpted Saint-Michel in Mont Saint Michel.
