Suzhou and its authenticity and charm

Suzhou is known by many as the Venice of China, even as all comparisons are odious, and much more when something is compared to the incomparable beauty of Venice. Suzhou is a city that offers good things and special places. For me it is the set of feelings you get when getting lost in its alleys and canals, the white walls of the houses give a special charm, homes in most cases thus note are inhabited places, and it is something that gives authenticity to the streets because there is something made especially for tourists, and I was fortunate enough to have visited when it was cold in November, and with little tourists, so the feelings were special even with the intense cold.

Suzhou Canals

Suzhou was named by Marco Polo as the Venice of the East because of the large number of canals and bridges that it has. During the Tang Dynasty it became the Grand Canal to Suzhou, due to its strategic location in a major industrial city. Now this channel is obsolete but the city still uses it to transport and feed the rest of the channels. One of the tourist activities offered is to view the city from its canals, going on the ships that go down them.
