Mandatory in seville

My friend Edgar had already warned me that visiting the Los Coloniales tavern was mandatory when in Seville.

We were there this weekend and, really, it is an ideal place for lunch or dinner if you're in the centre of the city as it is very close to the cathedral.

It is advisable to arrive early if you do not want to queue. We arrived at 13:00 and were seated immediately (and there were more than ten of us...), but when we left there were queues to get a table.

We tried the patatas bravas (fried diced potatoes with warm spicy tomato sauce), the chicken with almond sauce, the rice of the day, and "tablas rocieras," one of their flagship dishes.

I highly recommend it, a great assortment of meats. It is an ideal place to order all the food to share. They serve very fast and the coffees are very good. Without a doubt, I will return to Los Coloniales on my next visit to Seville.

Good place for tapas

Today I went to this tavern for the first time and I’m thinking about repeating. A good place for tapas, good prices and all dishes delicious.

The waiters are very attentive and very friendly. To get a table one must get there early as it gets packed.

I recommend the tapas: crispy aubergines with honey, sweet Roquefort cheese with berries and quail eggs with cured ham.

Exquisite food at a great price

The time I got the opportunity to go to lunch at the Colonial Tavern I left feeling glad I went.

The restaurant retains its characteristic Seville style, but without over-elaborating too much and also, the layout of the premises is very similar to an old house (if it wasn’t ...).

The food great and the price incredible, only 11 € per head and we left with a pleasant taste in the mouth. Without doubt, a visit not to be missed if passing through Seville.

Memorable tapas, flavors 10

The Colonial is another one of those places you would not fail to take someone who did not know Sevilla. Every month, at least a couple of times, I drop by this bar tops. With so much variety? Ask? In my case usually ask the quail eggs with ham, either in table 6 or a cap with two of them, the potatoes bravas, which bring an appetizer while the rest are great, the steak in all its variants remain to the Spanish, with ham and mushrooms, along with my favorite whiskey sirloin, chicken breast or blancmange with almond sauce, crispy eggplant with gazpacho and honey sirloin tip or antelope burger super 500gr . After eating there, the question is: why do they call when they are really tapas dishes? It should give you the same, the unbeatable prices for a local and a vibrant quality tantísima. Council to thank me ... call before you go, filled and can be waiting at least 45 minutes to 1 hour if you go at peak without reservation. Tapeo inolvidable, sabores de 10

Los coloniales son otro de esos sitios a los que no dejaría de llevar a alguien que no conociera Sevilla. Todos los meses, al menos un par de veces, me dejo caer por las tapas de este bar.

¿Ante tanta variedad qué pedir? En mi caso normalmente pido los huevos de codorniz con jamón, ya sea en tabla de 6 o una tapita con 2 de ellos; las papas bravas, que para abrir boca mientras traen el resto son geniales; el solomillo en cualquiera de sus variantes siendo a la castellana, con jamón y champiñón, mi preferido junto con el solomillo al whisky; la pechuga de pollo o el manjar blanco con salsa de almendra; crujiente de berenjenas con salmorejo y miel; la punta de solomillo o la súper hamburguesa de antílope de 500gr.

Después de comer en él, la pregunta es: ¿por qué las llaman tapas cuando en realidad son platos? Debe darte igual, los precios insuperables para un local tan céntrico y tantísima calidad.

Consejo que me agradecerás... llama antes de ir, se llena y como mínimo puedes estar esperando de 45 minutos a 1 hora si vas en hora punta sin reserva. En el caso de que no vayas con reserva, al llegar, te apuntarán en una pizarra e irán llamando a la gente hasta tu turno.

The local the taberna coloniales is a...

The local the Taberna Coloniales is a place known, especially by the locals because the food is good, and so little is spent. The property is on several floors with various rooms by wooden tables. Booking is not essential, once if there is no place you can write your name on a slate with a cerveza and stop outside the room and wait for them to call your name. Almost all the children in the area do so. Once inside you will see that the dishes are very cheap but not scanty. The advice is to try as many things as possible, perhaps taking a portion of different dishes, you will not be disappointed certainly.

Il locale la Taberna Coloniales è un posto conosciuto, soprattutto dagli abitanti locali, perché si mangia bene, tanto e si spende poco. La struttura è su più piani con diverse salette dai tavoli in legno.

Prenotare non è indispensabile, una volta arrivati se non c'è posto potete scrivere il vostro nome su una lavagnetta e fermarvi con una cerveza fuori dal locale e attendere che chiamino il vostro nome. Quasi tutti i ragazzi della zona fanno così. Una volta dentro vedrete che i piatti sono molto economici ma non per questo poco abbondanti.

Il consiglio è di provare quante più cose possibili, magari prendendo diversi piatti di una porzione, non ne rimarrete certo delusi.

Tpica kitchen. quality and quantity.

Da tops are treats for the senses. We were two consecutive days and when we return to Seville, of course repeat. Waiters amabilisimos, that if, at the top of people. The buenisimo salmorejo, to repeat the Iberian ham, gazpacho 10, and cod in print.

Cocina típica. calidad y cantidad.

Las tapas del día son caprichos para lo sentidos.
Nosotros fuimos dos días seguidos y cuando regresemos a Sevilla, por supuesto que repetiremos.

Los camareros amabilisimos, eso si, hasta arriba de gente.
El salmorejo buenisimo, el jamón ibérico para repetir, el salmorejo de 10, y el bacalao de impresión.

Colonial tavern

The spectacular covers of this rincn so typical of Seville. We had to wait for dinner but deserved it. Another thing, do not take reservations so it is important to go early.

For tourists and natives

This location is typically not to cheat or not to touristy Sevillanos. Many years doing the same, ie, feed a proper nprecio and simple and honest cooking. Do not expect sophistication or nonsense dishes, strong food, fries gogo and grace. Este local es el típico que no engaña ni a los Sevillanos ni a los guiris. Son muchos años haciendo lo mismo, es decir, dar de comer a un nprecio adecuado y con cocina sencilla y honesta.
No esperes sofisticación ni tonterías en los platos, comida contundente, patatas fritas a gogo y mucha gracia.
La lista de espera es de 'autogestión' , es decir, que tu mismo te apuntas en la pizarra y cuando te llegue ya lo sabrás porque el anterior tiene su nombre tachado.... nada de micrófonos diciendo 'Manolo a recoger su pedido'...
Junto a la catedral y en la Plaza Cristo de Burgos.

Fuori, per strada, con un bicchiere di buon vino e due chiacchiere con gli altri potenziali clienti.
Poi arriva il tuo turno e finalmente capisci ilmotivo di questa fama.

Tapas e piatti ottimi.
Il mio consiglio? La tapas iberica: una fetta di pane tostato con la salsa sivigliana, il bacon e tante piccole uova di quaglia.

The best site we tried

After trying several sites this gust us enough, has better prices and caps estn not bad. The top most expensive I remember that the majority were 3.95 were around 2 to 2.5. Good site, very close to the cathedral but not attached to all the bars in the area.

El mejor sitio de los que probamos

Después de probar varios sitios este nos gustó bastante, tiene mejores precios y las tapas no están nada mal.
Probamos un surtido de croquetas, estaban buenas aunque en algún momento recordaban a las del estilo boletus del mercadona, el manjar blanco (un flamenquin de pollo) muy rico, las bravas un poco frías.
La tapa más cara creo recordar que eran 3,95€ la mayoría rondaban los 2 o 2,5€.
Buen sitio, muy cerca de la catedral aunque no pegado a todos los bares de la zona.

Strongly recommended

Seville and I'm often in this bar. Prices are very reasonable and the food is fantastic. For me this bar and "Levies" are the best places to eat in Seville. The only bad thing is that there has to come very soon because it fills up very fast.

Soy sevillano y voy frecuentemente a este bar. Los precios son muy económicos y la comida esta buenísima. Para mi este y el bar "Levies" son los mejores sitios de Sevilla para comer. Lo único malo que tiene es que hay que llegar muy pronto porque se llena rapidísimo.

De escandalo

Se come de escandalo,platos a rebosar, camareros simpaticos y todo riquísimo, esta hasta arriba siempre y te toca esperar, pero al final terminas subiendo tiene dos plantas mas aparte de la principal.
Recomiendo el manjar blanco,buenisimo.....
