A fascinating site
This tower was part of the ancient Church of Our Lady of Grace, which was built in the fifteenth century. In 1808, the French looted and destroyed the Church, which long after the fact was restored. However, the lack of a budget and the serious state of disrepair made only the repair of the tower possible, leaving the remains of the Church, over time, completely buried. Hence the saying: "Chinchon has a tower without a church and a church without a tower."
