Simple but popular chapel
The Friendship Chapel is a simple, humble, but very popular chapel. It's little more than a white-walled room with a golden image of a Chiang Saen-style Buddha and an altar where you can leave offerings. The image of Buddha is typical of Thailand, and in fact the Thai ministry of culture gave permission to name it the Friendship Chapel in 1985 as a recognition of the good relationship between the Buddhists of both countries.
