The Gdansk Shipyard

Gdansk Shipyard is one of the symbols of the country, because it was here where Solidarity was born by Lech Walesa that brought down communism by forming riots and protests. Workers were killed in these riots and there's a monument to remember them, with 3 large crosses with 3 anchors. In these yards the ship Soldek was built, the 1st ship built in Poland after World War II that is now stranded in the river, opposite a crane that is now practically closed as there's no work. There's more work in the Gdynia and recent months have been controversial as the name of Lenin was added, "The Lenin Shipyard"
