The old road leading to the lost city

The Inca Trail is a 3-day trek that takes you from Cuzco to Machu Picchu. First of all, you should know that it's quite hard, because of the height. Another option is to take a train to Aguas Calientes, spend the night and the next day you can climb, walk or take a bus to the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. If you decide to walk, stay 2-3 days in Cuzco first, to acclimatize, and not get altitude sickness. Take coca tea or chew coca leaves to help you withstand the altitude. If you get sick, do not continue, go down, save the climb for another time. The Inca trail is on the old road leading to the lost city.

Incredibly beautiful landscape

The second day of the 4-day trek that began in Cuzco and ended at Machu Picchu was one of the most beautiful of all and takes one of the Inca trails from Santa Maria to Santa Teresa. It is a walk of about 7 hours running through incredibly beautiful landscapes. This road was created by the Incas in order to get from one village to another. It's a very narrow path that runs through the mountains and goes through some unique places full of greenery and where you can enjoy truly breathtaking views. Beginning in Santa Maria, at first the road is wide but after half an hour it begins to narrow and leads into the mountains.
