6 reviews of National Mall

War memorials and famous buildings

Excellent

The famous Mall is a vast expanse of green approximately two miles long. It's definitely the most popular area in Washington, bordered by the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial. This is where you'll find war memorials and various world-famous buildings like the free Smithsonian Institute. It is used for both official events and leisure activities. In summer an outdoor cinema can be found on the lawn which shows classic movies like Breakfast at Tiffany's.

+2

The most important historical monuments

It's difficult to define exactly this famous place in Washington DC. The National Mall is a 3.6km avenue connecting the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol Building, the seat of the government. But the Mall is more than just an avenue. Here you'll find all the most important historical and cultural buildings in the city: the White House, dozens of museums, several memorials, the headquarters of the Federal Reserve...a beautiful walk that you can't miss.
