Food stalls of all kinds and for all tastes

The visit to the Muslim quarter of Xi'an is one of the essential of this city. This area has a concentrated Hui community, largest Muslim ethnic group in China. Throughout the narrow streets there are food stalls of all kinds and for all tastes. We ate at a stall with dumpling soup. Delicious!

Muslim is xian neighborhood

Parallel to the central district of Xi'An, runs the Muslim Quarter of the city. The Hui ethnic professes this religion for many centuries and is the less common genre curious traits with Muslim peoples of North Africa. Marketing a big way, as would any souk, but clearly asian, crickets, spices and fakes everywhere. It's like being in a great All 100. Especial attention to the food stalls and restaurants with more than own Moroccan menus central China. The children toured the neighborhood with a stuffy nose, as the pot smells and sensations playing in disfavor of your pituitary. And recommended walking a while yet, negotiate a rickshaw for a spin and end up in a bustling market haggling in the purest Arabic style.

Barrio musulmán de xi’an

The hidden face of xi'an

If when planning my trip I go on to say that there is a Muslim Quarter Xi'an would have spent at least one more day. Xi'an has many things to see beyond their warriors, not putting them down, but one of the things that draw most attention is its Muslim quarter. It is also in the heart of the city. In, of course, there is a bazaar of objects of all kinds and also typical food and spices. It is interesting to see the mixture of these two very marked cultures into one. His mosque is beautiful Chinese style but with Arabic inscriptions. If you are lucky enough to go on when prayer is a joy.

Due to its location on the silk road,...

Due to its location on the Silk Road, which comes from the west from Persia and Arabia, Xi'An City hosted the ages a Muslim immigrant population, and still found their heirs in the streets of the city. The Muslim community includes such an ancient Chinese style mosque and many shops offering products tailored to the Islamic regime, including Halal meat ... which is a little scary is that the pieces of meat are spread throughout the day outdoors!

Scents, colors and flavors

As if fuea the Rastro de Madrid, the Muslim Quarter is filled with stalls of various items for sale. Also by arcades where foods are cooked aroma spread through the streets, while people with difficulty transits between bicycle and motorcycle taxis cars. Browse walking being one more, a good experience.

Olores, colores y sabores

Strange mix between china and islam

This neighborhood north of the Drum Tower, is believed to have been inhabited since the Ming Dynasty by the Hui Muslim community who have kept Islamic customs. Curiously stroll through the streets of this neighborhood and see the mixture of two cultures, Chinese and Islamic reflected in the many shops and food stalls with atmosphere similar to Arab souks.

Chinese philosophy

Staff and our enriching experience sublime honeymoon. Stock totally spontaneous and without looking, asking permission to sign the Chinese men who made their game of checkers. The gentlemen are turned, giving me permission to settle the photo and continue as if nothing with your game.

Filosofia china

In the district of xi'an lives for a ...

In the district of Xi'an lives for a long time the Hui community, who professes the Muslim religion. The area has many streets including lost, all full of life. You can in fact find tea rooms, butchers, bakeries, stores that sell any type of food and markets. In this district is the largest mosque and the famous Bell Tower.
