3 reviews of The Trump Building

Art Deco

The Trump Building in lower Manhattan is not to be confused with the well-known Trump Tower in the Middle East Side. It began as the Bank of Manhattan building on 40 Wall Street and built in 1930. Located between William and Broad streets, the building is Art Deco in style, is 287 meters tall and 120,401 m2, with 72 floors. This building was hit by a Coast Guard craft on a foggy day in 1946. This accident killed four people. The building was purchased and remodeled by Donald Trump in 1996, and has since been called the Trump Building. It was designed by architect H. Craig Severance with Yasuo Matsui.
