The Valley of Alcala

1 review of The Valley of Alcala

It was an Arab enclave

This is another suggestive and hidden valley of the interior of Alicante and includes numerous populations that have now been reduced to two. It was an Arab enclave which was very difficult to conquer due to the rugged terrain and at the Alcalá de la Jovada you can see a curious fountain with the statue of the last Muslim leader. A good time to visit the valley is late March and early April, when the cherry trees are in full bloom, here also has a PDO (appellation).
