Mull island

Mull Island is a magical Scottish Island. It's probably the least-visited island that can only be reached if you take a ferry, but if you venture to go you can meet the wonderful people of Tobermory. Typical fishing village but with that magic as if time had stopped. It should be a must stop his distillery!

The capital of the isle of mull

Tobermory is a small town of about 700 inhabitants located on the island of Mull in the Inner Hebrides archipelago northwest of Scotland. This small picturesque village characterized by the bright colors of its houses façaces is the only town on the island and therefore its capital. Located on the east coast of the Isle of Mull is the entry point for tourists and locals from the port of Kilchoan. Tobermory was originally a fishing village founded in 1788. Today it is a tourist destination which houses the Museum of the Isle of Mull and especially the famous Scotch distillery Whsiky Tobermory. Although sparsely populated, Tobermory is a vibrant and lively city that hosts many annual events such as a music festival devoted to the composer Mendelssohn in July or the famous "Highland Games" during the summer.

Located at the northeast extremity of...

Located at the northeast extremity of the Isle of Mull, off Oban and highlands, the town is Tobermory is the largest of the island, but it is also one of the most beautiful villages from Scotland! Indeed, along the main street facing the harbor, traditional houses of the villages align with their bright colors, which gives a great view! In fact, when you come from the main road which is a bit surrélevée was the impression of a formal scene discovered since the last time this picture postcard!

Tobermory, capital of the island of m...

Tobermory, capital of the island of Mull, is particularly striking for its colors: every house and building has a different color. The external appearance of the buildings housing is typical in the islands (such as the Isle of Lewis Hébrida Exterior), since the main common are usually found near a port and colors thanks to the sailors and travelers could recognize from a distance from their homes . According to the locals, however, this explanation is not fully reliable. The main street, Main Street, along the harbor with jetties main (called "Pier") that protect from storms, frequent throughout the year. Here we focus businesses on the island, with activities and crafts stores objects. On Main Street there is also a church that does not allow religious services while in surprisingly conducts its business is a supermarket chain Spar. A Tobermory distillery is also a homonymous city and we eat really well, with high quality dishes based on seafood and fish. It is the most expensive area of the island both in restaurants for accommodation (hotel The Tobermory is recommended). In the city there is also a small museum, true pride of the city which houses a collection of fossils and remains of the boats of the famous Invincible Armada of Philip II.
