Tour de Gruene

This cycle race takes place every November in the county of New Braunfels, Texas (45 minutes from Austin). The Tour de Gruene runs along the Guadalupe River, through farmland, roads and pine forests. You can choose from different distances: 14, 28, 36 or 60 miles. Hundreds of participants come each year, and the race coincides with the local sausage festival, Wurstfest. At the end of the race participants are given a meal. This year the tour started and finished at the Lazy L and L, a camp site on the banks of the river.
