Great site to visit

The monastery was built from donations from many Bulgarian kings and nobles. One of them, the region's feudal gentleman, Hrelyo Dragovol, rebuilt the monastery in 1334 and it then became an important architectural complex. The Hrelyo Tower is the oldest structure of the monastery and its located right next to the Church of the Nativity. The tower was built out of stone and in the shape of a square, where it served as a watchtower.
