Fontana del Tritone

Made of travertine marble

The Tritone Fountain (Rome) is near the Trevi Fountain and was made by the great Italian Baroque master, Gianlorenzo Bernini. It's in the center of Piazza Barberini, almost in front of Palazzo Barberini. The beautiful fountain is made of travertine marble and in it the sea god Triton appears throwing a jet of water through a shell while sitting on a huge conch, sustained by 4 dolphins. It's worth stopping for a while before continuing to walk and delve into the Via Veneto that's a few meters away.

Beautiful font

This beautiful font, not to be confused with the one in the center of the Piazza Barberini (Tritone Fountain by Bernini) is in front of the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin. It represents 2 Tritons and dates from 1715. It is something beautiful to behold by the enclave and the beautiful Church of Santa Maria. You can't lose.
