Unter den linden

As our visit to Berlin was in February, we found Unter Den Linden covered in snow. We read many references on the boulevard and, despite the weather, we enjoyed its charm and beauty. Absolutely recommended!

The unter den linden is, without doub...

The Unter den Linden is, without doubt, the most important street and most famous of Berlin. Runs through the historic city center to reach the Brandenburg Gate. Its name is due to successive lime trees were planted there after ceasing to be the route of the royal hunting. Since the eighteenth century was filled with buildings as prestigious as the pear, and the Museum of History. After German reunification this street, which was the eastern side, was filled with restaurants and shops. Today is always crowded with Berliners and tourists especially. You can eat, drink a few beers, see an exhibition or just cycling along the avenue to the Brandenburg Gate. This last experience is that most recomiento, it is amazing to see that this city can go peacefully by bike to finish the most important pillars dodging the symbol of Germany's largest artery. You have to go for it!

Avenue "below Tilos" Unter den Linden is in the center of Berlin. It takes its name from the many trees that provide shade in summer. It is the most prestigious of the city, with a kind of promenade in the center, and cars passing by each side. Exits from the Brandenburg Gate to reach the Museum Island, where there was the imperial palace, which was destroyed recently. Then follows the avenue but its name changes to Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, named after the founder of the German Communist Party. Throughout the Unter den Linden find beautiful buildings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Now are luxury shops, banks, embassies. Also opera and Neue Wache, a war memorial.

Avenue "under the lindens" unter den ...

Avenue "Under the Lindens" Unter Den Linden is located in the center of Berlin. It derives its name from the many trees that shade in summer. This is the most prestigious of the city, with a pedestrian crossing at the center, as the Spanish rambla. Cars pass over against aisles. The avenue from the Brandenburg Gate to get to the Museum Island, where before was the imperial palace, now destroyed. Avenue then continues to become Karl-Liebknecht-Straße, named after the founder of the German Communist Party. All along Unter den Linden found beautiful buildings of the eighteenth and nineteenth century, which are now boutiques, banks, embassies ... There is also a war memorial Neue Wache and opera.
