Top destination

Van Gogh Museum was one of my top destinations while visiting Amsterdam. It is located on Museumplein which you can get to by tram 2, 3, 5 and 12. It is open daily from ten to six, except on Friday when it closes at ten o'clock. The tickets cost 10 euros (check out the queues waiting to buy tickets first because they´re usually long) .... The permanent collection can be found on the first floor presented in chronological order to show you how his works developed over time.

The color of the night

This is the evocative title of the exhibition the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam devoted to the Dutch artist, his obsession with the night light and that has given us the opportunity to see the work of Vincent from a totally different point of view as had done so far. Although no longer in the lineup, ended in early June, I decided to create this corner, since most of the works on display belong to the museum's collection, and therefore remains a great place. "I often think that the night is much more alive and rich colors that day." Vincent Van Gogh. How not to get excited with the work of the Dutch, who in just ten years progress in the study of light and technique more than all his contemporaries!. Only the sample is already a journey in itself, begins in 1880 and follow the evolution of Vincent through the poems he read, the epistolary relationship he had with his brother Theo, his admiration for Millet, Breton ..., peasant life, the difficulties of the lower social classes reflecting again and again in sketches before "The Potato Eaters". Van Gogh wanted to be first preacher, and came to give away all his possessions to those who had nothing. Your whole life is on the edge, his extreme sensitivity always leads to the limit. His Parisian period is the emergence of light, color, Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec in his drawings, Japanese prints they admired the Impressionists (see parts Hiroshige), Vincent pointillism of Seurat test, the "painting of the imagination" Gauguin, the play of light and shadow ... Rembrandt's only ten years in the life of a man, until 1890, when Vincent decides to stop being a burden to his family and commits suicide, but we could be a lifetime contemplating their work. All his work is a tribute to the artists and creators who admires, is obsessed with shades of light, night light also. To see on this trip "Starry Night" at MoMA, along with "county road in Provence by Night" Kröller-Muller Museum in Otterlo, and "Starry Night Over the Rhone", the Musée d'Orsay, is something that never forget. The moon, the night light, stars Vincent compared to the points on a world map show the work of a dreamer, one ahead of his time. This has been the excuse for our trip to the city of canals, the Pea has squeezed the most, we have been delighted with the White Beer on the terraces with a splendid light. We tested one of the best apple pies in town, in Villa Zeezicht, and the delights of the Pancake Bakery. We rubbed shoulders with the handsome Dutch in another starry night, this time with the Westerkerk in a local fashion: The Werck, and we have come a large number of over 1,200 bridges that the city owns. The Rijksmuseum Rembrandt and "The Milkmaid" by Vermeer with their blue and yellow are already in our palette.

The van gogh museum

The Van Gogh Museum is one of the most visited Amsterdam as exhibits paintings of the most famous artist of all time and it happens to be Dutch. If the staging of works is too dance and paradoxically paintings are too glued to each other, fans of Van Gogh appreciate being able to admire the sunflowers true.

After a first pass through this museum there a few years, I recently had the opportunity to return; and it was not a pity! Rediscover a true master of the classic Van Gogh, to observe nearly the subtlest dtails of his paintings, always a pleasure to be shared with family very well !!

The van gogh museum is the most visit...

The Van Gogh museum is the most visited museum in Amsterdam with over 1.5 million visitors annually. Throughout its three plants will find, among other things, more than 200 original works of the Dutch painter. Vincent Van Gogh was born in Groot-Zundert in 1853 and, after receiving a good education in a boarding school, went through several jobs painting to discover his true calling. With the aim of creating a group of Impressionist painters, Van Gogh rented a house where invited artists with whom he shared interests including Gauguin. Christmas In 1888 Vincent had his first mental breakdown that led him to cut off part of his left ear. In 1889, Van Gogh voluntarily entered a psychiatric hospital where he remained one year. During this time he lost touch with reality and I felt a great sadness. When his mental state deteriorated further, the artist ended up shooting himself in the chest in 1890. He died two days later at the age of 37. In life he sold only one painting. In the modern facilities of Van Gogh Museum can find more than 200 paintings, 500 drawings and hundreds of letters from the artist. On the first floor will enjoy traveling each story laden walls. The story of Vincent Van Gogh told frame by frame. His paintings are arranged chronologically, so that you can easily observe the artist's evolution from rural scenes of his early works to the stormy end of his life. On the second floor are exposed research on some of the paintings of Van Gogh and others attributed to him without knowing for certain that. On the third floor is a collection of paintings of the nineteenth century, which shows the relationship of contemporary artists from Van Gogh to his work. The Van Gogh museum is the most visited museum in Amsterdam and queues, especially on holidays, are endless. To try to avoid them as best to arrive early or late. There is a special glue for the owners of the I Amsterdam Card. Although Van Gogh's paintings are not liked around the world, admire his collection (almost complete) and to relate it to the stages of life does change the vision that many have about the Dutch painter. At the entrance of the museum you can take a brochure in Spanish where you will find many interesting details about the life of Van Gogh and thus better understand your paintings. The entrance is 15 euros (quite expensive) but under 17 are free.

A mandatory amsterdam

Not that I understood and is a great lover of art, but I do have some interest. Since Van Gogh is one of the most famous painters of the history of art and the Netherlands, the museum seemed like a must. And I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. There are exposed quantity of oil paintings, small drawings and other works of Van Gogh, many of which I had never seen. I found it very interesting and enjoyable. The space is large and bright, so it's nice to walk through the museum and no major "bottlenecks" of people are formed.

Never would have thought Van Gogh, who was to be featured in a museum like this. Although given his fruitful career for three floors of this building, which is the most representative of his work: his paintings a year and place, from the Netherlands to Paris, Arles, Saint Remy and Auvers-sur-Oise. There will be many people who do not know about this museum, believing that the Dutch capital's only source of coffee-shops and other illegal legalities out of the border. But Amsterdam surprises.

Amsterdam

That painting and know that life shows you crush it very expressive of life itself and if vitalism is that which is lost by the experience of nearly a century is that never happens, the imagination takes us not to be but there are men who make it.

Certainly it is a fantastic museum. Worth spending an afternoon walking the long corridors and enjoy the work of one of the best Pintore history. Loved also the museum is designed to discover the story of the author's life and its various artistic phases. A museum highly recommended and a must if you ride through Amsterdam.
