Via San Matteo

Located in the Tuscan campia, an hour from Florence, the little town of San Gimignano is a charming place, as well as a Unesco World Heritage site. It's famous for the 7 tower-houses that still stand above the ordinary houses. The best route to see and enjoy the warm and welcoming atmosphere that emanates from the people, is to follow the main street, Via San Matteo. In fact, the town is built around it, following it up to the square, and then down to the outer edge, where the walls are. It's a lovely walk in the heart of a charming village.
