Cafe Vianna

This is maybe the most emblematic and traditional coffee bar in the city of Braga, and has been open since 1858. It is located in the basement and porches of the building known as Arcade, in the center of Praça da República, where there is a terrace that is always full of people. It is a very nice place to drink, from a simple soda, ice cream or beer, a good breakfast or snack accompanied by a slice of cake or a pastry. The décor inside the restaurant is in the style of an old 19th century coffee bar, predominantly made of wood and marble.

We arrived in Braga on an empty stomach. Where should we have breakfast? In Cafe Vianna , without a doubt. Its decor took me to another time and under its arches, on the terrace in the square, we enjoyed a great, inexpensive breakfast (2 chocolates and 2 croissants). Don't pass it by! If you want to try something new I recommend "A Brasileira" just two small steps from there.
