Viewpoint of the perlan building

The Perlan Building (The Pearl), is built on top of natural hot water deposits and is located on the Öskuhlíð Hill in Reykjavik. On the bottom there are several exhibition halls and a museum and upstairs in the dome, a restaurant. Outside the dome and surrounding it entirely is the best viewpoint of Reykjavik. The place itself is worthwhile visiting, but the views from the balcony are spectacular, especially if you are lucky enough to go there on a clear day. The first thing we did the day after arriving in the city was to go up there at noon, on the longest day of the year (June 21). The sun was ,at its highest in the south and the whole city is at your feet, with the mountains, the Bay ofFaxaflói ...

Views of the entire city

The building belongs to Perlan Icelandic energy company responsible for harnessing geothermal energy. On the ground floor there is a museum of how it started and was "creating" the country, families who passed through the island and how it evolved. They offer audio guides for this visit, only unfortunately no Castilian. Admission is free by the way, but worth paying to see the figures that are made of wax. On the top floor there is a restaurant in addition to the gazebo. They say it is a very good restaurant, I ate there and I would not recommend the truth, my experience was bad, it took a century to bring the food was expensive and not as good for that price. The veranda overlooks the entire town (one side is the airport). Beautiful place to get an overview of the city. To reach Perlan can use the bus 18, is caught in the bus station, is the second stop.
