Renaissance-style Villa

Located north of Coconut Grove, the Renaissance-style Villa Vizcaya was built in the early twentieth century. The interior, where you can take pictures, is very well-preserved, with spectacular gardens filled with statues, fountains, and nooks where you can stop and rest for a moment. And from one of the windows of the cafe you can enjoy the view of the pool, half indoor, half outdoor. And stepping onto the terrace, you'll feel like you're going back in time. There's more to Miami than beaches and shopping!

A stunning villa

A magnate of the early 20th century industry, James Deering fell in love with the Miami area and built this Italian Renaissance-style palace. With handmade tiles, European furniture, Breton crockery, gold taps and Aubusson tapestries, it is all stunning inside. Unfortunately taking photos of the interior is forbidden. I was most impressed by the cool patio, an oasis of peace, and the lush park that surrounds the villa, complete with fountains and statues.

One of my favorites place on earth!
