Walking from Delmonico´s to Ground Zero and Battery Park

1 review of Walking from Delmonico´s to Ground Zero and Battery Park

A nice walk

Once you have visited the places that you really want to see in Lower Manhattan, it's a good idea to go for a walk to the famous Delmonico's, the first major Manhattan restaurant to be found in the Financial District. It was one of the few buildings left standing after the September 11 attacks, and around it you'll find many new buildings under construction as well as recreation sites where New Yorkers take their children to play and sunbathe. There are squares and green spaces, where we saw groups of ex-soldiers sitting in the sun singing military songs. You will pass the Peace Monument at Ground Zero and Battery Park, where the ferry can take you to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
