A Beautiful Line of Old Buildings

Excellent

When did we lose a taste for classics? When did we start building with bricks? I am a lover of colorful buildings with forged balconies, like the ones we can see in the historical downtown of Logroño. But the most beautiful part of all is the Muro de Cervantes, right in front of the Sagasta Institute and its beautiful gardens. This line of old buildings, which is not usually mentioned in the travel books, is worth visiting.

A tourist sign says, “The eastern side of the wall must have reached until this point and, for centuries, it served as the eastern boundary of the city, until its definite demolition in 1861”. Afterwards, plans for urban expansion began and you can see it on the map: from this street on, the blocks are bigger and the urban planning is more rational.
