Geysers and bison at Yellowstone

Excellent

The wildlife at Yellowstone National Park is really amazing: wild bison, elk, herds of deer, and more. I'm not sure, but I'd imagine the name "yellow stone" must come from all the colors in the geyser and hot springs. Given the volcanic activity, the springs are constantly evolving. The forest, though, is the same untouched wilderness as it has been for generations, except for a few traces from the Great Fire of 1988.

Yellowstone National Park

Going to Yellowstone May 2012 was an experience I can not wait to have again. Although I've had my share of travel experiences, Yellowstone was the most adventurous, wild, and free place I've ever visited. Visiting this National Park has inspired me to love nature and wildlife, develop a passion for photography, and find inner peace.

Wyoming Trip

We stopped here during a roadtrip from Chicago to the Portland and it was well-worth it. Going to Yellowstone is like going back to frontier days, except with cars and cameras, of course. It made me want to grow a beard. You can just be driving along and see a herd of buffalo literally feet from your car, not to mention deer and bears. We even saw a porcupine. The geyser area is pretty intense and the colors are unforgettable. If you need a place to stay, there are lots of little cabins and bungalows around the park, but the Old Faithful Inn is the best bet, although it’s a bit pricey. It’s basically a mansion-sized log cabin! Also, don’t miss Grand Teton National Park just about 20min.
