Are you going to Barcelona? Great! The Catalan capital is one of the most popular cities in Europe for tourists, so you're sure to find a wide variety of Barcelona accommodations, and there's bound to be something that suits you. Of course, remember that this city is a frequent host of international events, so if you're traveling while one of these is taking place, or if the dates of your holiday coincide with the peak season, it's essential to search for places to stay in Barcelona well in advance. Barcelona lodging can be hard to find during big events.
You can find Barcelona hotel deals at any time of year, but remember that the capital of Catalunya is considered one of the most expensive cities in Spain, so lodging in Barcelona isn't often as economical as it is in other Spanish cities. You can find Barcelona hotels in the city center, but if you need to prioritise your budget, you might be better looking outside of this zone and searching for hostels, guesthouses, and B&Bs in less popular areas.
With minube you can compare the prices of a number of accommodations and hotels in Barcelona, and book your room from your computer with just one click. No need to wonder where to stay in Barcelona...let us answer the question for you!
This is the ending point for a lovely day in Barcelona.
My route starts in the Sant Adrià marina in the Fòrum, passes by all the beaches in Barcelona, from Llevant to SantSebastià, and finishes up in this magnificent hotel, the end point for all would-be walkers and cyclists.
Modern and sophisticated, this hotel is located in the heart of the Raval, one of Barcelona’s most vibrant and modern neighborhoods.
I love the rooftop terrace with the 360º views on the 10th floors. It’s very striking.
It’s an ideal place to spend the weekend with friends or as a couple. By the way, the staff is very welcoming and the brunch is unbeatable.
A boutique hotel perfect for business trips. It is called Room Mate Emma de Barcelona and is located on Carrer Rosselló. It is equipped with everything you need to disconnect from a day of work, or, if you can't avoid it, work from the room. It has a quite fast wireless connection from all rooms, which is a good point.
Nevertheless, if I have to say something in particular about this hotel it is the superb location, a few meters away from Passeig de Gràcia or la Rambla de Catalunya. My room had two beds together of white and mauve colors, the identity mark of the hotel chain. It was very comfortable. The ornament of the room has very avant-garde style and the bathroom is very complete. It has a shower instead of a bath.
The breakfast buffet was mouth watering and the cafeteria is very quiet. Lastly, the reception, small but very cute. It has a computer with internet connection for clients.
To sum up, a very charming boutique hotel. Well located in the noble area of Barcelona. I highly recommend it.
In the Presidente Hesperia Hotel, they treated us in a nice and friendly way that makes you want to come back. The food is delicious and the rooms have luxury views. They have rooms to have tea while working with your laptop and if you want to have meeting or even conferences they have rooms for this specific use, adapted to all needs.
I got to know the beautiful Fuster building more than 10 years ago, when the ground floor was used as an exhibition room dedicated to industrial design. After a few building reformations, it became a very elegant hotel in the more sophisticated area, above the one of Diagonal where Paseo de Gracia ends and Gran de Gracia street starts.
The imposing modernist building forms the pompous entrance to the Gracia neighborhood. The ground floor of the building has, apart from the reception lobby, a large room with high back chairs, giving a certain imposing sensation. Next to it you will find the bar-restaurant following the same line.
I really like the veils they put on the windows, a transparent bronze colored silk letting the light in and preserving intimacy inside.
It's been a while since I found a comfy hotel bed (if you only sleep 6 hours, at least you should sleep well). The decoration of the room is modern. Don't be frightened if you enter the reception area and the hotel if old because the reception isn't representative of the hotel's interior. The location is perfect if you want to be close to Sants since the hotel is literally on top of the station. Very recomendable! Also, the café is open until 1am.
Majestic Residence is the perfect corner for people that like having an independent place in one of Barcelona’s most important areas. The apartments are spacious, well illuminated, with a distinguished decoration and all the equipment you might need so you can feel at home.
When you go in you not only see an impeccable and modern place, but also you can enjoy many of the hotel’s services: they can do your shopping for you and leave it in the fridge, they can clean your room, and they also offer you some of the services inside the hotel. If you like luxury, then you will enjoy these services.
I especially like to use the spa of the Majestic, and I would also highlight the upper terrace of the hotel, which offers spectacular views of Barcelona while you chat and drink something.
It is a great corner, especially if you are looking for an option that gives you more independence.
This spot is Ideal for a couple's getaway because it is modern, clean and has a great buffet breakfast! We have stayed twice now, it's in a quiet area of Barcelona between Bonanova and Pedralbes, close to good restaurants and the Two Towers, and somewhat forgotten monuments of the city such as the Royal Monastery of Pedralbes ...
Functional hotel next to Sants station (fast train, subway, suburban trains). Very well connected to the most touristic area of the city. Free wireless so it is ideal for short trips and business travelers. The restaurant is excellent with an extensive menu and a week set meal for lunch for 26€, very complete and of signature cuisine. Ideal for a few days in this wonderful city of Barcelona.
The Denit Hotel is close to Plaza Cataluña, which makes it an ideal option to move around Barcelona’s most interesting places, such as the Ramblas and Gothic Neighborhood.
It is also great to go out at night to some of the famous places without being disturbed by the noises. The rooms have a minimalist decoration and they take well advantage of the spaces, where you will feel very comfortable and you will have everything you need.
The breakfast offers many choices, the coffee is very good and there is a surprising variety of fruit and pastries, perfect to start a day of walking through the city. If you stay there, take a look at the walls in your room and in the halls.
The hotel recommends some interesting places of the city, and you can get a guide in the front desk. This is a great corner if you are looking for peace and tranquility and comfort with a great location.
Aparthotel Silver is a very nice hotel with a family atmosphere. The apartments have small kitchens, but the best thing about it is the little garden in the back where you can have breakfast. They are very friendly, and there is free internet at the reception. The location is great, right next to the Fonana metro stop.
The Barcelona Princess is known for its modern, innovative design and is one of the most iconic buildings in Barcelona's grandiose cityscape. It is located at 1 Avenida Diagonal in front of the Forum and beside the Convention Center of Barcelona.
The Balmes Residence is a hotel that is centrally located and full of details, such as the figures that decorate the entrance, making you feel as if you are entering a museum full of history. There are refurbished rooms of ancient houses, but they have respected the style, restoring the artistic roofs.
They don’t prepare dinner, but lunch is exquisite. Don’t miss the garden with pool and the kindness of the staff, while you drink a coffee in the street-side cafeteria.
Hotel Icaria Barcelona is ideally located in the area of the Olympic Village and District 222 of Barcelona, a few meters from the beach. Thanks to its proximity to restaurants, bars and clubs, guests will have the opportunity to discover the city's vibrant nightlife. Besides, the hotel is well connected to the centre of the city by public transport. It was opened in 2005, and has an elegant interior which meets all the guests' high-tech needs. Recreational amenities include a terrace, a fitness center with sauna and jacuzzi, an outdoor pool, a piano bar, a la carte restaurant, 5 meeting rooms and free Wi-Fi in all public areas.
This hostel, in Calle Numancia, is located in the business and shopping area of Barcelona. Importantly, it is located in a safe area. Nearby you have the lines L3 and L5 of the Metro, plus a few bus lines (day and night) and tram. It is a 10 minute walk from Sants station. The hostel staff are happy to give you information about everything in the city: amenities, cultural activities, etc ... I should stress that it's part of the Spanish Network of Youth Hostels and the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). Finally, I want to tell you that both breakfast and linen are included in the price of a bed.
The Victoria Suites hotel is part of the AC chain. It is located in Pedralbes Avenue, near Diagonal Avenue. This is an upscale neighborhood with luxurious buildings, which was developed in the 1970s. You're not far from shopping centres, but going to the city centre, the beach or the Gothic Quarter, you'll have to rely on public transport. The hotel offers long stays in furnished apartments, complete with kitchen and living room. They are great if you're staying for a long time, or you can also have a traditional hotel room. The rooms are larger than normal, the Junior Suite measuring 45 square meters, and the Suite 65 meters with a meeting room for 8 people. The majority have a terrace overlooking Diagonal. Downstairs, there is a conference center for large corporate groups, as well as a bar.
An authentic luxurious hotel I can't find anything negative to say about. They say there are 5 stars hotels who deserve 4, well this one has 4 but deserves at least one more. This is why I think stars are pointless, anyway... I had three fantastic days and I will tell you why.
There are aspects I consider fundamental when choosing a hotel: the food (explanation in the following), the location, and the rooms (mainly the beds). This Silken deserves an A in all of them. Let's start with the location.
You know the Agbar Tower? The hotel is just next to the tower, which means we were in the middle of Diagonal, perfectly situated to enjoy all Barcelona with the hotel as headquarters.
The food. The two times I went to Barcelona I went there to discover new restaurants, but this time it was different, I came with friends, and this means more exhausting tourism. What happens when you get to the hotel at about 19.30 after an intense day of discovering spots in Barcelona and taking into account that the night before was as intense? Well I don't know about you, but the last thing I want is to go out for dinner. But if the hotel offers a quality restaurant, I'll stay, rest, have dinner. I can't put the quality of this restaurant into words, it was something completely unexpected. In this type of restaurant you usually have good food, but in this Silken it is even better, wonderful. Some impressive tagliatelle, a solomillo you will not forget, a salad, just perfect...
And there goes the third and last point, the rooms. I slept very well, the beds lived up to my expectations, the room is very nice (I don't like the word comfortable), lovely, large. In our room we had a Nespresso coffee machine and a fruit platter also perfect, nothing else to say. If you want a nice view, I suggest you book a room with a view on the Agbar Tower, at night the scene is quite special.
The hotel has parking, something we were grateful for. The service was amazing. The doubt I have now is: will I be able to go to Barcelona again and stay in another hotel? COMPLICATED.
For our last escape to Barcelona, we chose the Ayre Caspe hotel mainly because of its fantastic location only a ten-minute walk from the Paseo de Gracia and Gothic Neighborhood.
The hotel is modern, functional, and oriented toward business travelers, but it also makes for a good base to spend a weekend exploring the city.
The breakfast buffet was, frankly, incredible.
These apartments are very clean and located in the city centre. All of the apartments are equipped with Nespresso coffee machines and a pack of capsules as a welcoming detail.
The gels and creams in the bathroom are also from the brand Rituals. Even though these are apartments, there is room service available.
I stayed at this hotel for a few days in July 2008, as I was going to Barcelona to see the Springteen concert at the Camp Nou. It is a 3-star hotel belonging to the Derby chain. It has a great location, witin walking distance of Rambla Catalonia and Paseo de Gracia, and is close to several city bus lines, Metro (blue and green lines) and taxis (at the door). It is in the most central, touristy area of Barcelona, with plenty bars, cafes, and restaurants nearby - although be aware that the prices are quite high.
The hotel was great, and we were very comfortable. We arrived early, and as there were no rooms available, we left our luggage at reception. The entrance and reception area is very wide and luxurious, all spotless, freshly-polished marble, with leather sofas and walls covered with beautiful paintings. It was decorated with antiques, as this hotel chain has links to the Egyptian Museum, and guests could get free tickets to the museum (we didn't have enough time to go). From here, we went to the little bar and restaurant. Our room, on the 4th floor, was quite spacious, equipped with the typical: Two 90cm beds together, wardrobe, a desk and an armchair. The television was on the wall and was flat screen. The decor was simple but functional, and the furniture was dark wood.
Given my intolerance to noise and the location of this hotel, we had asked to stay overlooking the quiet courtyard. The only problem was the broken thermostat, as we had no way to turn down the air conditioning, which was quite cold; sometimes, we found it better to turn it off entirely. There are radiators for winter, wifi, and a small gym with sauna. The bathroom was all marble and very spacious with a bathtub wall to wall, wc, bidet and a huge counter with recessed sink, with more than enough space to store your toiletries.
There's a rooftop terrace with some chairs and umbrellas next to a small pool. One of the advantages the hotel offers (besides the tickets to the Egyptian Museum) was renting a free Smart vehicle. I can't talk about breakfast, as we only booked the room, but the buffet cost 13 euros, and I don't think it would be worth it as there are so many cafes in the neighbourhood. Indeed, I recommend the cafe right next door, with very reasonably priced food. We paid 100 euros for a night, which isn't exactly a bargain, but it was the city centre, and July...
The Podium NH Hotel is well situated to visit the key points of Barcelona, but with the swimming pool, the cocktails, the delicious food and the stunning service it will be quite difficult to get out of there ;) You have spaces to relax with a drink or simply chat with friends while sunbathing.
After walking just a few meters, we came across the famous Ramblas of Barcelona, the Plaza Real and the Gothic Quarter, all of these are must visit places as well as the Plaza de Colón and the Church of Santa Maria del Mar. The rooms are fully equipped with heating and fan, free Free wifi and a desk. You can choose bedrooms with bathroom or without bathroom. Around the Hostal Levante you can find many bars and restaurants serving dishes and breakfast as the Pa amb tomaca. If you want to know where to find entertainment areas just ask the hotel staff as it has a trilingual staff that is especially attentive and always willing to help. Just 12 kilometers from Barcelona Airport.
The first important thing of this magnificent hotel is, obviously, its location: located in the city’s downtown and after leaving the car in its private parking lot (something very important, especially considering the area), you are surprised by its decoration. It has a fresh style, elegant and confident, with minimalist and ethnical touches, which give it an air of modernity.
The rooms are spacious and they have a very interesting decoration. You get there through a crystal elevator that allows you to see the installations.
The service is truly fantastic, intimate and professional. I recommend you take advantage of its upper terrace with pool, where you can enjoy a great variety of drinks and cocktails while you take a dip in the pool, if the weather allows it. Most definitely, it is an excellent choice while in Barcelona.
