At one end of Sardinero beach is Hotel Chiqui. It has stunning views over the coast and an affordable price, this hotel is a wonderful option if you want to visit Santander. All rooms have views of the beach and many of them have terraces where you can enjoy the Cantabrian Sea. Buffet breakfast, very complete and varied. The only fault we could put the cafeteria and restaurant, despite having great views, is that it´s quite expensive and the quality is not always great.
A hotel in Santander with views of the bay.
Real Hotel is in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods surrounded by palaces. It is a historic hotel such influential personalities have stayed when visiting Santander, such as former President José María Aznar. The hotel is located just 500 meters from Sardinero Beach.
We've been here twice, two years in a row. An exceptional place, full of tranquility and calm. A great place to go to disconnect 100%, and enjoy one of the hiking trails. The best mountain campsite I've been to.
I found the Gran Hotel Sardinero by chance when I went to cross Constitucion Bridge. My car broke down, so I had to find a room on the fly and it ended up being very reasonably priced (60 euros for a double, without breakfast). The hotel is a stately mansion dating back to 1890 built right on the city's most famous beach across from the Sardinero and the Grand Casino. Although it has been renovated several times, the inside still retains a decadent, historic air. It has carpeting, large lamps, velvet armchairs in the lobby, big bronze statues flanking the stairs, and a gleaming marble floor in the entrance hall. The rooms, though, have rather outdated furniture. Our room had two beds connected by a wooden headboard. Opposite was a small desk and a table on which the TV sat. The bathroom could use a face-lift. There was no air conditioning or minibar, and you could smoke in any area of the hotel. However, the stay was nice and it was very clean. The reception staff were lovely, and even lent us an umbrella one day.
The Silken Río Santander is located at 153 Avenida Reina Victoria. It's a fairly quiet hotel not too far from the Palacio de la Magdalena, but still a bit far from the city center. You have to catch a bus if you want to go to the Cathedral, for example. The hotel has free wifi throughout and you can get the password at reception when you check in. My double room was clean and spacious.
Taking advantage of our stay in Ireland we decided to take a trip to one of the most beautiful cities of Spain, Santander, that we had forgotten for many years since I visited. For this we chose the NH Ciudad de Santander, small, cozy hotel. Although central, it does not suffer from the usual noise. Rooms are very comfortable, breakfast adequate, private parking. It all makes you forget the car and stroll through the city.
Despite having just a two star rating, I really enjoyed this hotel a lot. It is located in the heart of Santander, next to the train and bus stations, so it's perfect if you're travelling. It has 79 rooms, a computer room and reading room, restaurant and coffee. Although we did not ask, we were given a huge room, with the bathroom being particularly big. We had two 105cm beds, a desk, luggage racks, and tv (satellite and flat panel) on the wall. The decor is simple but very modern and contemporary, and perfectly clean. In addition, there is wireless internet access throughout the hotel, we just had to ask for the key at reception. The bathroom was fully adapted for wheelchairs: sliding door, a large shower, sink rocker, lever handles for support everywhere ... There were a complete set of amenities, hairdryer and magnifying mirror. A highly recommended hotel: comfortable, cheap and in the heart of the city.
This 3-star hotel well deserved fourth star. Great value for money. It is conveniently located near the drinking area and 50 metres from the bus and railway station. Great customer service, help was always at hand. The room was huge. There were three of us and we asked for an extra bed which was jsut as big as a normal bed. As there was no space in the hotel parking, we had our card stamped for the private parking next door and were offered a large discount. In future visits to Santander, I know exactly where I'm staying. The Atapuerca bath collection was the icing on the cake. All utilities were related to prehistoric man.
The service is great. They were very quick when we requested anything. We also have an agreement with the Hotel Real by which you can enjoy spa services. The hotel is very central (ideal for visiting Santander) and the room was spacious and comfortable.
Hotel Bahia, located between the Cathedral and the bay, is the perfect hotel whether you're travelling for business or pleasure as you're close to everything. The four stars are noticeable in the rooms, which are very large, bright and fully equipped (minibar, large TV, toiletries, hairdryer, table and side table, etc ...). The bathrooms are also large and comfortable. The best part of the rooms are the views, at least for me. Every morning I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise over the bay when I woke up. The only downside is the avenue in front of the hotel, as the traffic can be noisy. The hotel is has good soundproofing, but if you have sensitive ears you'll still hear the cars. The breakfast buffet is really complete, with local produce, pastries, fresh fruit, a variety of omelettes, bacon, and a wide variety of teas and coffees provided by a Nespresso machine. I wasn't paying for the stay when I visited, but if it's within my budget, I'll definitely return next time I'm in Santander!
The hotel is 5 minutes from Sardinero beach. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The views are amazing, you see the whole sea and Cabo Mayor lighthouse. The breakfast is amazing, buffet: cold meats, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, a thousand juices, toast ...
All rooms have views, bathrooms, TV, wi-fi ... there's also apartments with kitchens and living rooms available for a maximum for 4 people. Located in the best spot in Santander, 500m from the Sardinero beaches and 800m from the city centre.
A charming bed & breakfast in Santander run by a brother and sister, Eneida and Nacho very cozy and nice. A special corner in the middle of the city with 6 different rooms each one better decorated tan the next. Surprisingly cheap price compared to hotels which are supposedly better. Definitely worth another visit!
If you are in the center of Santander, with nowhere to stay for the night, the solution could be the comfortable Pension "El Figon", which is especially affordable, and very suitable for the whole family. Seeing is believing!
The best of this Silken is its location; a stones throw away from many parts of Santander. It is a very comfy hotel. The area has a variety of restaurants and places to go for tapas and is also very close to the sea. There is free wifi and the buffet is quite varied.
The Hostal San Glorio is located in the center of Santander near the fishermen's neighborhood and the train stations. The hotel has 30 rooms and each has a private bathroom, telephone, television, wifi internet, power supply, voltage, safe and heating. The property offers fax, a parking garage, restaurant and meeting rooms.
A very pleasant, unforgettable experience. This inn has great decor - not just authentic, but also very stylish - with rooms overlooking the park. The owners are very friendly, and will make you feel at home. The rooms are quite small, but the price is good. I especially recommend it to lovers of nature and animals.
It is a small, B & B style hotel near the Sardinero, but protected to give a calm and proper view from any windows of the Sardinero beach. After years of traveling to Santander, I can say that it is the best in town.
