The renovation of Cibeles Palace

In my opinion, it is the loveliest building in Madrid. It is worth going through all the floors and spots, it is a magnificent building.

Inside, on each floor, there are many surprises. If you start with floor 0, where there is a space dedicated to reading or relaxing, right next to desks with tactile screens to play and learn with information and pictures of "before" and "after" the renovation Palace. Further the old postal service stands (the Spanish Correos), exactly as it was at the time, which gives way to the glamor of other times.

We can go up the lift or the fabulous stairs to other floors (there are eight of them, including the tower and two lower floors). These stairs are decorated with spectacular glazed tile. On each floor, you discover something new, the glass floor, the very worked roofs, the painted glass and the huge exterior glass dome.

My precious Madrid

My Madrid, my precious Madrid. This building, once the headquarters of the Postal Service, is located in one of my favorite squares in the capital. The square is graced by the goddess Cibeles, whose watchful eyes capture all that happens in Madrid. And while we’re usually too busy rushing from one place to another, if we do stop one day and take a look, Cibeles will show us a magical part of Madrid’s history. After a lengthy restoration, Cibeles is finally open to the public and will be free until July 27th. The renovations look great and the best part is the access to the roof where you can enjoy priceless views of Madrid.

The most emblematic buildings

One of the most emblematic buildings in Madrid!! The Palace of Cibeles is one of Madrid’s landmark monuments and the current offices of the mayor of Madrid. It's located in Cibeles Square, which is visible from the Paseo del Prado which begins at the foot of the Palace. It was originally constructed by architects Antonio Palacios and Joaquin Ortendi to be the home of the Post and Telegraph Society of Spain. It’s commonly known as “Our Lady of Communications”, a name given to it by Leon Trotsky after he was impressed by the building’s grandeur during his visit to Madrid in the 1930’s. This building

New cultural center and viewpoint

Excellent

Centro Centro cultural center is located in Madrid’s iconic Palace of Cibeles, formerly the Palace of Telecommunications. Today, this exceptional and historical building is full of 21st century ideas and houses exhibits that represent the cutting-edge of various disciplines. Another exceptional attraction this building offers is the chance to enter the roof and enjoy the views. As soon as you enter, look at the available time slots and reserve a time to go up. To go up, there are stairs which are only 88 steps, which I’d recommend taking in order to enjoy the different views of Madrid, but there is also a lift for those who have difficulty with the stairs.
