As we wandered aimlessly through the city of Dublin, looking for a hot chocolate or something warm to drink, we met Molly Malone, the famous woman who sold fish to the tune of "cockles and mussels alive, alive-o!" There is a statue erected in honour of this fish seller who, despite there being no evidence that she actually existed, has become a part of the country's folklore. It is said that she sold fish by day, worked as a prostitute by night, and eventually died of a fever. It's funny to hear tourists remark on the statue's breasts! The statue is in front of Trinity College, at the bottom of Grafton Street, a shopping area with plenty of clothes shops, shoe stores, fast food outets, pubs, etc ...
