Restaurants in Quebec
Le Casse-Crêpe Breton
(1)
This place is well worth the wait in the queues at the door. The shop is tiny, rustic and serves simply delicious crepes. The price is affordable. About 10-12 euros. When you eat salty pancakes, you will already be thinking what you will be having for dessert! You only have to look at the photos. And if you still have any doubts, I´ll leave you their website!

Céramic Café
(1)
The Ceramic Cafe is just a conventional coffee shop, but you get to take a customized cup. First, you choose the piece of crockery to be customized. There are different varieties of cups, teapots, milk jugs, water jugs, plates, bowls, and fountains. You pay a price for each piece, which varies between 5 and 20 Canadian dollars (from 3-15 euros) and then pay 8 dollars/hour in the workshop. The workshop consists of small tables that have special paints, brushes, drawing models, patterns and sprays. After the work is done, you leave it with the shop, and go to pick it up when they tell you to. It usually takes about a week.

Chez Ashton
(2)
Chez Ashton is a franchise (I discovered that after eating there). I know little of the cuisine of Quebec, and the only item I recognized was the "poutine" fries with cheese and some salsita. Chez Ashton, according to some locals, could be a good option to try to get this delicacy at a reasonable price. I chose the normal "poutine" with a drink, which I was a little less than $9 Canadian. I was a little disappointed. The place itself is fast food place: chairs, tables, one throws away what is left in a box, if you don't like the fries, the site not only offers various types of "poutine" but also sausage sandwiches and salads. The advantage is also that it is very centrally located in the old town, a few steps from the main buildings to be visited.

Le Cheval Blanc
Québec is very touristy and historical area where the restaurants are quite expensive. This one has a very interesting menu, with a first dish, second and dessert for 10 € , even on the weekends, and you can eat and drink well for only 15 €. I recommend the pate terrine, the roasted rooster and chocolate mousse.

Café Nagua
Looking for an internet cafe in Quebec, I came across this cafe and restaurant called Nagua which was a very nice place to check email, but also to eat and drink. The wifi is free and they also have a computer available for customers to use for free. But the idea of the restaurant is a place where local products are sold. When I asked for a beer, for example, they gave me a wide choice as, throughout the province of Quebec there are many "micro-breweries". The room was very nice with sofas and shelves of books, magazines and newspapers. The only drawback is that the location is not very central and in a neighborhood that you do not often visit when visiting Québec.

Paillard
(1)
The café and bakery Paillard, situated on the Rue Saint Jean, is an interesting place for both its price and the quality of their products. There you can buy to take away or eat in the in the cafe itself which has a large space with tables and chairs. In one room you can choose from various types of breads and croissants or other pastries, while in the following they offer coffee, hot and cold drinks, soups, and hot sandwiches. The prices are reasonable, with a good location and they even offer ice cream in the summer as well.

Chez Temporel
This small restaurant is in Old Quebec, near the town hall. A quiet place, but may be busy at midday. It's open in the morning to make breakfast until late at noon. Sometimes its open in the afternoon, depending on the day and the season. The "Fórmula Temporal" consists of a lunch with drinks (including wine or beer), soup, main course, dessert, and coffee. For meal or snack options, there are pizzas, salads, croissants, baguettes etc. I had the hot chocolate filled with malvaviso, a delight.

Aux Anciens Canadiens
Aux Anciens Canadiens is the oldest restaurant in the heart of Quebec, and one of the oldest in North America. The place where you can find the mansion Jacquet dates back to the year 1675. I was there in the year 2007, and the truth is that it is a beautiful place, we ate from a pre-made menu because the prices on the a la carte menu scared us. It wasn´t bad, especially the meat. For around 20 Canadian dollars, although I think that the strong point was the history of it.

Au Bonnet D'Âne
(1)
The restaurant "Bonnet d'âne" is not very centric but affordable and only a walk from the old town. I was seduced by its decoration which gives it a familiar and warm feeling, and the friendliness of its staff. They have a big diversity of dishes : burgers, fish, meats, soups, desserts, or just a drink if you like, and even breakfast until 11 am if you want to test a Quebec Breakfast. Pricing, is (I think) about average: you pay about $ 15 Canadian dollars for an main dish, $ 5 for a drink (and do not forget that there always add 15% tax, often not included in the prices shown in stores and restaurants). It is the perfect place for a dinner with friends or family.

Spag & Tini
In Basse-Ville (Lower Town) of Vieux Quebec, there are many wonderful restaurants with vibrant patios that overlook the city streets. Spag&Tini is no exception here, and we enjoyed a delicious Italian meal on the patio. It was great for people-watching, and soaking up the atmosphere of Old Quebec while enjoying a savory meal. The food was excellent; there were plenty of options on the menu, including pasta, pizza, and much more. There were several vegetarian and gluten-free options here, too. We ordered a tomato sauce pasta, a veggie pizza, and some beverages - a beer, and a mojito. The food arrived very quickly to the table, and we were offered plenty of freshly baked bread while we waited. The service was exceptional - our waitress was very friendly and was always checking to make sure we were okay. The food tasted very fresh, the portions were great, and we left feeling very satisfied. We will definitely return if we find ourselves back in Quebec City!
