Bsiliek van het heilig bloed

The view from the outside is beautiful. You can go in this chapel on the ground floor and then climb the stairs up to the chapel. There, on the top floor, by the stairs outside the building there. The chapel is stunning, it's probably the most beautiful building I've seen as far as interiors go. You can't come to Bruges and not see it.

Relic

In fact two churches: a first in the Romanesque style, San Basilio, the year 1143, and over the Basilica, which was built between the XV and XVI. The upper chapel dates from the fifteenth century and was remodeled in the Gothic style in the nineteenth century. This chapel is decorated with murals depicting scenes relating to the relic of the Holy Blood and stained glass. In the silver altar relic is preserved in a glass jar of rock, placed in a cylinder with a golden crown on each end. Traditionally Diederik van der Elzas relic brought from Jerusalem after the Second Crusade. Every May we celebrate the Procession of the Holy Blood, commemorating the arrival of the relic to the city.

Reliquia

Basilica of the holy blood

The Basilica of the Holy Blood is on the Burg Square, in the heart of Bruges, near the Markt square remarkable for its belfry. It is on the Burg Square you will find the Town Hall (Stadhuis). The Basilica of the Holy Blood is notable for its architecture in the first place. The dark facade contrasts with the other buildings in the place, and the architectural style of both Gothic and Renaissance did not question the lack of visitors. The Basilica is divided into two time, the left door leads you to the lower chapel of Romanesque style. The staircase leads you to him in the chapel of the Holy Blood, gothic, where the famous relic of the Holy Blood.

Faith

Located in the historic center of Bruges, this small church where the Holy Blood is venerated, a deeply religious atmosphere breathes; impressed that in such a small place there is something so "Great".

Fe

The basilica of the holy blood does n...

The Basilica of the Holy Blood does not go unnoticed among the other beauties of the Burg Square. Its dark façade and wealth of detail inevitably attract attention. In fact, it consists of two churches: the Church of Saint Basilica, which is Romanesque and dates from 1143, and the Basilica whose peculiar façade, which was built between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries we see. There is often the tail for the visit, so if you want to see inside, I advise you to come early.
